Wonderstate Coffee - Madison Cafe

Great place for an espresso and a pourover!! They have a variety of coffee options for both drinks. They also have a lot of good choices for non-coffee drinkers in their cooler. Be aware that it can get very busy and very packed in there on a farmer's market Saturday but they do have a walk-up drip coffee/iced drinks kiosk available and the baristas do a great job getting drinks out in a timely manner!

I love to come here and work or read or do anything for a short while. I have my favorite spot in the back corner of the shop with a great view out the large sunny windows looking north west. The food selection here is pretty good for a coffee shop I have a few of the bakery items before and I always enjoy them. Personally I love my coffee pretty sweet and creamy so sometimes this isn’t always up my alley but objectively the espresso shots are well pulled and I enjoy whatever I get. It gets very crowded summertime on the weekends but I always like to go on a quiet bluebird winter morning for the best time.

I have bought this coffee on drinktrade.com. so when I knew I was going to be in Madison it was a must stop to check out their main location. Everything was incredible. Amazing! Pour over and an amazing breakfast avocado toast.

One of our best stops in Madison! We saw this spot bustling while we were at the farmers market and decided to come by the next morning. We ordered avocado toast that came with avocado, radishes, a poached egg, pea shoots, chili oil and local greens on a thick cut of toast. They were absolutely delicious! For coffees we ordered the iced salted caramel latte and a special that had rose in it- I definitely recommend the salted caramel more. Fair warning: this place seems to be packed from open to close. You probably will need to wait for a table. There was definitely added traffic from tourists in the area or people visiting the farmers market. The added traffic and business makes the space not as spruced up as it could be- but when we asked someone to wipe our table down they did so happily. I look forward to visiting again!

This place is popular. Don't go there on a Saturday morning when they're having the farmers market across the street, becaause there's a huge line that you'll have to wait in and they have limited drinks available at the front kiosk. I went on Sunday instead. It's your standard coffee shop, with some decent breakfast sandwiches. The one thing that stands out as cool, is that they have free water dispensers with both regular water and sparkling.

I would recommend this coffee shop if you like aesthetic study areas, pretty plants, and more simple coffee drinks fancy lattes! While I prefer trying places with unique latte flavors highlighted, this is more of a pour over coffee / good quality bean type of place. I would suggest visiting bc the coffee shop is just so cute & unique inside!

My husband's family live in central WI, and Wonder state is our go to when flying on and out of Madison to visit. Their staff is friendly, coffee is on point and their food is delicious. It's a good motivator to get to Madison before needing to be at the airport. On our last visit we had a Bacon-egg-and-cheese bagel and their avocado toast. Both were delicious! Thank you Wonderstate for the great service, yummy coffee, and scrumptious food!

The coffee tasted like it was made in Europe. Not too sweet, excellent coffee flavor that isn't burnt tasting like popular coffee chains. The pain au chocolat also gave Europe vibes, crunchy exterior, pillowy airy soft interior. Simple interior design, overall very pleased and may have a new favorite coffee shop.
